School Counselors Can Help in Many Situations
Students:
- My parents are getting a divorce. I don’t know what is going to happen.
- I am new here and I am having trouble making friends.
- I don’t have a problem, but I just want to tell you about my friend who is talking about killing himself.
- I need help with my study skills.
- I worry about someone I know who drinks.
- Someone in my family died.
Parents:
- I have a lot of difficulty dealing with my child/stepchild.
- My child needs help, and I don’t know where to turn.
- It is a battle to get my daughter to school every morning.
- Fred scores low on standardized test but makes good grades in class.
Teachers/Staff
- I need some ideas for helping students to get along with each other.
- Tommy is showing little initiative in completing school assignments and projects.
- Mary has been absent from school an awful lot this year.
